You Found WHAT in His Cake?

I love this photo from my son's birthday party, he was 3. The guy really does love a party to this day, and he has hosting one down to a fine art. Anyway, in this shot he is responding to the presentation of the birthday cakes, yes there were two. I baked one from a box, and my mother-in-law baked one from scratch. My mother-in-law decided to put prizes in her cake, like they do with the cake of kings in France. She put in all kinds of cute little choke-able items, like pennies, jax, and stuff like that. So while the kids were eating the cake that I baked, their mothers were going through their slices from my mother-in-law's cake with "a fine tooth comb". God, I love that story.

Choo: I am so sorry. I have problems with other peoples blogs too, like not being able to leave a comment. I don't know why you can't "connect" with mine.

I love the smile on the blonde kid in the centre !!
It looks like he/she just found the best present ever !
Would be a great picture to use for presentation cards for a shop (like mine...) The retro feel to it and the kids look adorable !

Dominica: That blonde kid is my son. This photo is circa 1985.
How about that patch job on the suspender straps? I had to do that with all of his overalls to make them fit.

OMG...that would be frightening wondering what was in the cake. How exciting though. Love their expressions.

Lovely day here. Finally. I should have made cup cakes or something, but never got around to it.

Hope you are feeling better and had a great Saturday.

Really beautiful out here, too. Finally.

Well..I actually have a crochet book "get your crochet on" from Afya Ibamu. It is really a cool book. I've attempted one hat out of it, but I didn't get very far.

Thanks again. Its good to hear from you.

Lol.... I love the idea of prizes inside of the cake. Big, un-choke-able prizes, that is. Great pic!
