Rocking the 60' and 70's School Photos, or How to Get Your *ss Kicked at School

I've decided not to wait for the "embarrassing school picture" tag. In fact, you can see all of them. Take note of the school dance photo in all of it's overexposed glory. My date was the dweeby clone of the boss's son in Dirty Dancing. And I obviously did not know how to comb out my hair after taking the curlers out. Sweet. And how about that plaid blazer, powder blue top, and huge beads? When my father showed this one to the guys at the office they wanted to know why his "son" was wearing a necklace. The one with the big yellow bow is when I did my hair by myself, after my mom had pulled a drunken all nighter, and I literally had to step over broken glass to get through the living room and go to school. Good times. My all time favorite is the black & white of me and my friend from English class. I really loved him, he was so sweet.
It's amazing that I made it out of school alive. If I hadn't been able to change my clothes and put makeup on at my best friend's house, I would have looked like these pictures every day. But the photos were really for the parents, so I wore what they wanted me to. Some day, I'll show you the flip side of school.

Oh Diane, allof these are beautiful - they really are !!
Even the clothes are vintage now and VERY HOT !!
Love 'em !! Do you know how many people would kill to dress their kid in one of those tops now !?
I can know - I get these questions every day in my shop !!
OMG, I looked like a boy too when I was little (and had a boys name on top ; nobody ever called me Dominica but Dominique ... hated my name for a long time...)
OK, are we tagged here to search in our 'old skool' data base ?

SkylersDad: You weren't too shy about posting the pea coat shot, were you? And may I say, you have great legs!

Dominica: That is totally hilarious about your name, although I'm sure it wasn't funny at the time. Yes, put your school pics up.

Jasmina: To know me is to love me.

I especially like the one where you have long hair, blue top and you're laughing at the camera ... and the black and white one is really cool!

WOAH. The older...the more beautiful. I´m serious! But that´s normal. Older ladies are far more beautiful than young teenagers.

I CAN'T KEEP UP WITH YOU!!! And yes, I'm yelling - or at least talking loudly (and slowly, I've had some wine) in frustration because ummmm.....I got no game compared to you! Blog game, that is.

Pictures, I got game. Just have to stay under wraps while working at the Huge.

But posts and ideas and such?

I'm not even in the same ballpark.

You are an oolmitt.

Drollgirl: People tend to gravitate towards me when they're drinking. I don't know why. It's like they think I'm their secret buddy or something.

Girl I: Yep, wore that top in my school picture two years in a row, cause that's just how I roll.

JD: Keep talking, you sexy dude.

JFK Jean: Nobody orders me to do anything, but if there was one person to do it, it would be you.

Lulu: I love you even more when you've had wine. I just got home from work and I'm drinking wine too.

You look very much like a cousin of mine in these pictures!

After reading the story, the orange bow picture makes me sad. You were taking care of yourself in the best way you knew how.
