Mon Oeil

Mango kuchen is one of the easiest desserts to prepare. For the dough, mix 1 cup of self rising flour, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 stick soft butter, 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg, 1 large egg, 2 tblspns oil. Pour into a large greased & floured baking dish. The filling consists of one crappy old jar of mangos (drained) which your neighbors gave to you and you don't know what else to do with, and a sprinkling of sugar & nutmeg. Pour the filling over the dough and put in a 350 degree oven for about 25 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.
This is delicious warm from the oven with heavy cream and sugar.

Mon Oeil translated means My Eye. I love that expression, and I've been tempted to use it numerous times recently.

I love the old crappy jar of mangos descriptive. . .this looks so incredible just about now after changing a water heater and longing for something to eat before i head out now.
I'm actually gobbling down a bunch of Figis cheeses and meats assortment that was sent to us for the holidays. . .
I would love to have that Mango dessert to finish it off.

miriam: Thanks. I just found out that Cute Hubby hated the mango kuchen. What?

Jocelyn: Stop rubbing Oragel on your scalp.

Domi: That's o.k., you're there in the long run, and that's what's important.
