Baggage

Once upon a time, there was a happy girl, we'll just call her "Happy". All of her life Happy tried to be comfortable. When she was a very little girl, she tried to fit in with her older sisters. When she was an older girl, she tried to stay out of her parent's way when they were fighting. She loved going to school, because even though she didn't have any friends and people thought she was strange, it was the least uncomfortable place she could think of.
When Happy grew into womanhood, she was actually quite pretty. Suddenly she had lots of friends at school, especially boys. The next five years were a kind of blur between graduating, moving out, traveling, experimenting with substances, drinking way too much, and trying to stay happy. As luck would have it, Happy met a boy who didn't care how wild her life had become. He loved her.
So they started their life together, which went on for 30 years..........30.
Today Happy sorted through even more boxes of crap in the basement, until the dust made her sneeze too much. Then she went to the living room to take a break, and realized that the sofas were pretty much crap, and the broken television was too. So she resolved to put them all out with the trash the next time her town's big trash day was. "It's better to sit on a clean floor and read a good book, than to sit on a crappy sofa and bear witness to a broken t.v." Happy thought. Lets take a good look around and see what else can go.
Happy was decidedly cleaning house. It was a long time coming. Maybe Happy should change her name to Content.

I love happy. She sounds like my kind of gal.

I wish I could sit and chat with Happy.

I could use a friend like her right about now.

I donated 6 big bags of clothes today. I can actually walk in and out of my shed now and that makes me happy.

Hugs and love,
T
