I Sweep the Streets I Used to Own

The United States has estimated 750,000 homeless in a population of approximately 300 million, or 2.5 homeless per 1000 people.

This is from memory, so it might be wrong:

"Feed the people, who don't have enough to eat."

"House the people, living on the street."

"Oh there's a solution."

I believe there really is a solution, for one thing, you have to try to fix it.

that is nuts.

i remember way back when ronald reagan was in office and how he cut funding to mental institutions, which resulted in a LOT of mentally ill people being pushed out onto the streets. i am guessing that the same thing is still happening. it is awful, and it is easy for most of us to ignore (i am totally guilty of this).
