Dressing in the Genes
I am beyond lucky to have been raised by a woman with a drop dead sense of style. I cannot remember a time when my mother wasn't dressed and looking fabulous. I mean, honestly, how many women can look this good while caring for two toddlers? This photo of my mother and two older sisters is a prime example. It's not just the dress, which I would love to own today, but that look of complete confidence on her face.
I could live without the hat, but she wore it well.
Don't forget to click on the image to see it better.
Just seeing a glimpse of the shoe reminded me: My mother once owned a pair of shoes given to her by Carmen Miranda; I wonder what ever happened to those, they were awesome platforms, naturally.

I sometimes wish I was born in that era...I've had some pictures of my mother when she was 18 or 19 and she looked like a moviestar...all the women and girls were so immaculate back then...I do love the effortless look from time to time but my main motto is :
always travel in style !
