Blick and Blah

I know this really cool guy at work, who is WAY younger than me, but he's really smart. He's part of the "cute punk" group in town. Anyway, I said to him "I'm thinking of cutting my hair, but I don't want to wind up looking like some kind of old lady with short hair. What do you think?". . . . . Silence. So, I said "Look, you can be really honest with me. Just tell me what you think". . . . . Silence. I'm thinking, this is the most honest answer I've ever gotten. Maybe cutting my hair is a really bad idea. All of my "inspiration" photos taped up around my mirror have models with hair just like mine. The problem is, my hair is really dry, so I condition it, and "oil" it all of the time. Uggghhh! It's such a pain. It could all be in my head, I don't know. I'm wearing my corset jeans today, which I fondly call "torso in a bucket" jeans. And it's really raining, with thunder and everything. Blah! Maybe the hair issue should wait until the sun comes back out, at any rate. Thanks, you are such a good listener.

As you were. xo

Maybe just try a few layers to begin with? That alone can make an awful lot of difference.

Don't know if you get it over there, but "Aussie Miracle Moist Shampoo" and "Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Treatment" is just superb. Really leaves your hair soft and nourished and it smells beautiful. My mum has had problems with dry hair and she swears by it.

Layering is good. I'm sure you'll find something cool in more than one way for a hair style..but take your time.

Thanks so much for the note. Well, I'm sure they don't have the fashion savy of sex in the city & granted..they just can't get along. Funny, when I get these scenes going..I start thinking..well, I wonder what Rachel is really thinking. Whats going on in Whitney's head. Then there are other "segments" I get in my head..wondering..how in the heck am I gonna get to A to Z on this one. Especially, my "roadtrip"..& then somebody "tags" me for a 'flashback' & I'm thinking well, this is fiction so I did come up with a little story next week sometime that is hopefully, just a short story.

Oddly, a while ago..and I don't think I have those short stories anywhere, anymore...but a romance zine was interested in them..except..they weren't 'romance', but women's fiction...of course, based on the mystery, was the mother having an affair with her daughter's ex-boyfriend.

another good product is frederic fekkai's glossing oil. it helps. and i hear real olive oil is good, too, but don't use very much or you will get greeeeeasy.

Drollgirl: I guess I won't cut it. Olive oil is my best friend. I love the term "pregnant pause".

So, he didn't gave you an answer at all ?
I think you should just leave it maybe get some goof treatment at a salon and I don't know, but do you colour it ?
Maybe a deeper or darker colour ?
The darker the more shine, trust me, I'm an expert !!
I'm addicted to shine ...

I have to agree with G.I., just take off a few layers of the unhealthy stuff. I'm nowhere near a hair stylist but I've watched enough "What Not To Wear" to get me by I guess lol

I love the drawings! Do you want me to ask my inlaws about your hair? :)

diane said...

Lulu: Thanks! Only ask the in-laws if 1. everyone from MN is known for their excellent hairstyling techniques, or 2. they drank all of the wine that I told you to serve them, and in that case their advice should be total genius because as we all know, drinking makes everybody an expert.
