Jeans and Tee's DIY
While I was on va-ca I purchased a cute white tee with a patch on the bottom. The problem was, the patch was too thick for the tee fabric, and buckled. So I cut it off for future use on something else, and fringed & knotted the bottom of the tee.
The jeans are my favorite jeans ever, and so I just keep patching them. Voila, knee patches upon knee patches. I thought the peace sign was a nice addition, and could find no other suitable place for the Sublime patch other than the *ss.
I love my denim jacket. It's french. It has been going through a transformation over the years, with one beloved patch after another, and some artwork. The beautiful hand beaded bit was given to me by one of the designers years ago, along with a bag full of others. It was stuff they weren't going to use in their haute couture line. Then there's my tribute to John Lennon, the white letters spell LOVE. The red moose is for my connection to my parents, who were members of the moose lodge. Actually, I always thought moose were pretty cool. I loved the one that would wander through town on Northern Exposure. Then of course, there's the Dead bear, the ska patch, and the kiss me patch. I'd say this jacket is just about complete.
JD, I'm sorry I didn't get those pics of my favorite flea market up for you today, it's raining. Maybe next week.
Have a nice day every body! xo d

And what is it about the "perfect" jeans? I can't part with mine either. Of course my perfect jeans haven't fit me in years, but I still can't part with them :-)

Iron on patches are in today ; you should check this site out ; noeks.nl
She's Dutch and has a blog here too, she sometimes comments on my blog...
She sells the loveliest fabrics and iron on stuff !!
A good way to revive/recycle some clothes that seem dull but what a difference something extra can make !
I love jeans-jackets ; I have a similar one and maybe I'll just search for it and wear it again...the weather is ok for a nice and cool jacket like yours !
I shouldn't really be interested - guys shouldn't be should they? - but I love the whole patch concept. Do you make some of them or all of them or are they salvaged?
Now i'm going to have to fringe all my tees! Looks so rad!
Dominica: Thanks for the tip. I'll check it out. You should definately find your jacket, you'll need it for our roadtrip.
Mo Stoneskin: Hellooooo, most fashion designers are guys. Most of the patches are salvaged. Only the beadwork is an original piece, but not by me.
Charmaine: Glad to be of service.
