Startdust Memories

Are you a fan of Woody Allen? Then Stardust Memories (1980) is a movie not to be missed. It is filmed in black and white, and has a "Fellini-esc" feel to it. This movie is a great peak into the quirky brain of Woody Allen and his view on life. A must see.

For fashion fans, Charlotte Rampling is at her best in this film.

Forgive my lack of comments on your blogs. I'm buried.

Charlotte Rampling, men who are about 60 now, will say she or Claudia Cardinale was the most beautiful woman of the era !!

Am I a fan of Woody Allen? Um, if I'm honest he freaks me out a bit, there's nothing worse (I imagine) than encountering Woody on a dark night.

Oh, my Dad was so in love with Charlotte. She was his ideal woman. I guess. Seems like I saw her in "I'll sleep when I die" with Clive Owens and Jonathan Rhys Myers. Of course, I could hardly notice her with clive & jonathan to watch.

I really loved Woody's Match Point. I was so shocked he could make such a drama as that. Christina Vicki Barcelona was really good too. Woody & Scarlett have really bonded..it seems. I'm just glad she didn't marry him or anything.

Thanks for the note.

i was a Woody Allen fan until he married his step-daughter. Before that I thought he was great. And my Aunt was in his movie "Bananas"!!!! For real! She sang the opera song :-)

Dominica: Cute Hubby looooves Claudia Cardinale, he's 50.

The Peach Tart: Me too.

miriam: This film didn't get a lot of attention, but it's my favorite W.A. endeavor.
Still buried.

Mo. S.: No chance of a night time encounter, he's in the geriatric league now.

Cait: I forgot all about MatchPoint. Great film.

Joanna: Too cool about your aunt. I remember that scene, and what she looked like. Sweet.

JFK Jean: You should.

I've never really been able to warm up to Woody, before or after Soon-Yi. The still shots here are really cool, though.

All of Woody's films are classics. Woody and Charlotte Rampling are both loved here in France. Charlotte speaks very good French.

Thanks for dropping by my blog.

I don't know that much about Woody Allen, but I saw Annie Hall and loved it. He's totally nutty!

Lord, you guys are making me feel old.
Woody may well be America's greatest film maker. One of the best for sure. He has so many classics it's tough to chose a favorite. But, if you're new to Woody, I strongly suggest you go back in time and listen to some of his stand-up stuff, before he got into films. I'm sure you can find some on the web.
Knee-slapping funny.

Hey!
How are you darling? I saw your birthday is coming up? What are you going to do? I am such a Woody Allen fan. In college I would sit in the NYU library and just watch his movies over and over again HOWEVER I've never seen this one. I will def keep it in mind on Netflix because I love Charlotte.

Vic: I'd be willing to bet you've enjoyed a few of his movies that he didn't act in. How about Don't Drink the Water, Interiors, or Purple Rose of Cairo?

Cait: I can't stand being at the doctor's either. I think there are a few of us here who agree on that.

Dedene: I didn't know that Charlotte speaks french. Could she be any cooler?

Isabel: OMG, this movie is right up your alley.

Mr. Charleston: I totally forgot about his stand-up stuff. I'll see what I can find. I should give "Sweet and Lowdown" (1999) an honorable mention too, even though it was Sean Penn who starred in it.

Dooder City: I was keeping low profile about my birthday, Saturday. I'm spending it at home with family in the morning, and watching my grand daughter in the evening because that just the kind of rock star I am.

I'll have to check it out! I somehow missed it.

Thanks for your support and love, Diane!

I left this for you today regarding my post yesterday. I'm copying it here to make sure that you see it!

Diane, I would celebrate your anniversary regardless of what else happens on your special day. Stay in bed all day if you can and appreciate every moment that you spend together. Don't stop celebrating something so special between you two. Then "they" win. Hugs and love!

Tracey: That is so sweet of you. I think I'll just cook a simple meal, and we'll stay in for the evening. That is, unless Cute Hubby has something up his sleeve.

No need to apologize as I am the person (who hasn't visited your popular blog) who needs to apologize!

Perhaps I should start watching Woody Allen movies because he still inspires a lot of people after all these years.

I haven't seen that one yet ... I find his films a bit hit or miss, I either love them or hate them. I'll try to check this one out.
