This is the most succinct and beautiful thankful message I've seen all season. Don't you just love grandkids?

I wasn't going to read blogs anymore until after Thanksgiving but I saw Babyzilla in my sidebar and had to take a peek!

Thanks so much for your note, Diane. Well, Andy started out being based on a friend of mine, who thought he had everything figured out with his life, like being a marine...then he decided no way. So he ran away from home. I remember the last thing he said to me when he left.."you're getting fat..are you sure you're not pregnant.." The next thing I know..he's with some girl he barely knew who was pregnant. They did get married, but it flaundered and well..their outcome is quite different from Andy's...but like so many I went to high school with are going off to the military and well..this is some of the stuff I see my friends going through.

Honestly, its so sad the stories I hear about what kids have to go through with parents they don't really know. And it is terrible when their granparents don't get to be with them, either.
