Bon Appetit

Julie and Julia-wonderful movie.
Meryl Streep at her finest. How they made her look tall was a revelation.
Amy Adams turned in a good performance. She was likable.
Stanley Tucci was charming and sweet.
No idea who the guy was that played Amy Adam's husband, but he was vaguely cute.
Love the idea of a cooking blog, who would have thought?
And the references to Joy of Cooking, only to find out that the author didn't test out all of her recipes; no surprise there. I found that book to be boring and tasteless (it was a wedding present) and threw it out.
All in all a good movie. Had a blast watching it with my daughters.
Haven't had enough of Julia Child? There are tons of videos of her online. One of my favorites is of her on the David Letterman show, hysterical.
Bon Appetit.

I enjoy the movie too. But I LOVE the Julia Child's book, "My Life In France" that her part of the movie was based on. It's a great read.

And I actually read Julie's blog when she was doing the actual cooking-- although I had no idea it was a blog. Then I made the mistake of reading her book-- Not a great read. They really sugar-coated her in the movie.

And I have to admit-- I am IN LOVE with Stanley Tucci. I met him several years ago and he is such a sweetheart. I just read that he's directing Meryl Streep and Tina Fey in their next movie!

Glad you had fun watching the film with your girls.

Happy Sunday, xo jj

Joanna: I am soooo jealous that you met Stanley Tucci, I've had a crush on him for years. I'll look for Julia's book.

Drolly: I had wanted to see the movie since it first came out, and was not disappointed.
